As a longtime careful observer of Japanese pedestrians, most particularly the female variety, I lament the fact that about 90% are either staring into the screen of the cell phone or have it pressed against their ear. We have become slaves to our devices. Long ago we said, "Home is where the heart is". These days it is, "Home is where the rechargers are".

I worked my way backwards from the bear sighting, and I can't stop laughing. I think Green Leader should take better care of her crew; they're a little the worse for wear. And leaving them to deal with the bear by themselves - that's just cruel.
Apart from the narrative, though, it's a really warm toned image - nearly dreamy which is unusual considering it's just traffic. I guess it's because even there, she's lost in her own (dream) world. Wonder if she worries about her thought dreams being seen...
