I take it he's a doctor Duncan? I like the processing effect you're using recently, what do you do?

@Daroru: Thanks man. my process goes something like this (Initially convert to document profile -relative colourimetric, with black point comp) 1. I hit curves via an adjustment layer first and set 3 points initally around hang on let me check...44-27 then 100-120 then 200-230 or thereabouts anyway....itll give you quite an acidic bluey vibe. 2. I go into the individual channels and hit them with the following points: Red = 50-6, 150-140 and finally 200-230. 3. Next is Green channel and do the same only with the following points: 38-30 120-130 and 200-220 4. Blue Channel now: 20-30 150-130 and 255-240. These are all approximates. 5.Set opacity to about 30 percent 6. New Adjustment layer - Hue/Saturation. set Hue to about 8 and saturation to about 10 7. Another adjustment layer - Brightness/contrast and set brightness to about 10 8. Another adjustment layer - Colour balance and set midtones to around 10 (Red with preserve Luminosity checked) 9. Adjustment Layer - Curves2 and set points to about 50-50 and 200-200. 10. Select background and make a new layer 11.Set Selection to All 12. Make Border 1 pixel and expand by 100 pixels 13.Feather by 100 pixels 14.Fill with foreground colour (in my case black..it gives the edges a darker tone but its not neccessary in some cases...if you dont want it just skip all these border steps) opacity 100, Normal. 15.Set Current layer (it should be named Layer 1 if youre not sure) to Overlay 100% 16.Set Current layer to 80% 17.select Curves 2 and flatten image 18.Duplicate Background Layer 19.Set Background Copy to Soft Light 100 percent 20.Flatten Image. 21.Convert to profile - Lab colour mode, relative colorimetric, with black point compensation. without dither. 22. select lightness channel and Unsharp mask - amount 200, radius 1 threshold 10 23. Fade- opacity 90, Normal 24.Unsharp mask again - 40, 10, 10 25. Select lab channel and convert to profile current document 26. Duplicate layer 27.New adjustment layer - Hue Saturation adjust to liking....youve got a lot of range here, you can go for something very muted or something which is really quite vivid. I tend to go muted to be honest as it lends itself well to the next stage which will be typed later as Im knackered after that....to be continued.
Interesting processing here.. I like the effect it gives this one.

I realise this structure has quite a "polarizing" effect on people - like the way you've portrayed it here, warped yet un-escapable wherever you look.

He looks like Elvis.

Wow, I got exhausted just reading your processing steps :-) I'll try it sometime, though to see where I end up (and where the wheels end up). Inanycase, I like this ultra-cool guy, and I really love the way you captured the tower insinuating its way unbidden into the fabric of Kyoto, doing its best to steal the limelight.
