So...regarding the theme of water. Thanks to Damon for coming up with this theme. This time I just wanted to take the idea of 'water' to it's base level, and view it as a totally linguistic and abstract concept. So, I just wanted to interpret the word as 'water' and how it is used everyday, in everyday conversations. Tricky to explain, but in terms of lexical sets, and the way vocabulary is used, I wanted to look at 'water' through the idea of the 'wave'. So, for the next three days, I'll be looking at 'water' from the perspective of the 'wave'. Hope you like it. Happy hunting...there's a lot more 'Water' out there today.

Love your interpretation Duncs. I'm wondering if my effort is going to be run-of-the-mill now, having seen this! Very original, mate.

Duncan - you've thought this one through and I am digging your concept. In theory we are all waves oscillating between particles states and wave states, flowing as one and then individualizing over and over and over. Excellent shot - lighting and tone and shadows are perfect.

Love the play of shadows.

Very well interpreted duncan. I am looking forward to more of your perspective in the next few posts. This is a very nice abstract, i still wonder how you got those fringes on your hand. Good post production too.

This is an excellent image and a great b&w! It is a streatch for me to buy the water concept though. Without reading what you had to say, I would never have looked at the image and thought water. But, the image is supurb on its own!

The more I look at it, the more I like it -- but it is certainly strange. :) The waves do make for a subtle and interesting spin. And now I'm starting to read things into it :) very thought-provoking.

Excellent: you put on your thinking cap, your artistic thinking cap! It's a stellar image - an abstract object of admiration rather than a simple wave. I think the waves of light and dark superimposed on top really seal the deal. Fine flight of fancy. And of course, thanks for your help in making this theme a success, Duncan! I wonder water you posting tomorrow... (sorry)

Yes man, undoubtedly to make one's mark for his complexity at the level of the message and content - I tell a work to myself to the superposition of elements of different natures - tones, textures and specially shadows..... A work to deserve a more complete analysis since it boards the " immateriality of the things ". Great work!!!!

A striking image Duncan. Like the black 'halo' or 'aura' around the (your?) hand especially.

Firstly great interpretation, shot is very cleverly carried out - tones, framing and the concept of oscillating waveforms merge to form quite an impressive piece. Looking forward to see where you take this over the course of this theme!
