Framed awkwardly I realise but I liked the subject and left it as shot. This was fired off pretty fast, I got the impression he wouldnt have been too agreeable regarding cameras pointed in his direction. I doubt he's homeless but I think he's not in the best financial state. He had a face which for me, was full of character, hence the shot. I have no wish to offend subjects when shooting, and I do try to be as discreet as possible. To my knowledge he was unaware of the shot.

That's a great shot. It's always tough to know what to do when shooting people, but it looks like it's been worth it this time.

Duncs. Sorry for not leaving comments recently have been trying to take it easy as it like an addiction this site and can take a lot time. I'm trying to use in moderation.
The Man in the Street and the Man Alseep shot were just great mate. The Man in the Street does look like a Japanese Jack Sparrow hey? The man asleep, well that will probably be me this Sunday.
This shot here mate is really good too. Love the the expression in his face and your PP is excellent.
Are you shooting in RAW?

@Darren: Hey man. I know what you mean...Im snowed under what with work and a study course I'm in the middle of to top things off, I'm having to cut back on Aminus time in a big way. Not to worry, pop in when you can as it's always appreciated, but take it easy. Too much time in front of a pc aint good for me or you. Yeah Ive been shooting in RAW for a couple of months although for some of the candids I opt for jpeg where I need a bit of a faster in camera process (my camera takes about 5 seconds to store a RAW file as oppossed to the instant catch of a JPEG)

Personally I think the awkward framing actually works for this photo...I get the sense of boxed in frustration that he feels...somehow getting compressed by the limiting factors of the world...the confining frame of the shot therefore expresses his confinement or entrapment with money/other issues and the hard-ish b/w tones really help drive in the bleakness. Great shot yet again Duncan =D

Great work mate. The textures in this face are amazing. You're right about him not being impressed but then again you're right about the character in his face aswell. It's a great capture.

I think this captures the essence of what street photography is about, people. I think you captured a great story here in one image. One can read whatever they want into this image and that makes people think. Wonderful.
