@Darren: Cheers Darren, glad your monitor survived the shock. Mike Cash from Kiryu, JapanYou go out and make the kind of shots I sit and just wish I could make. 29 Jan 2007 6:39am @Mike Cash: Cheers Mike. I tell you, you've got the world at your fingertips with your job mate, all that travelling. You're gonna be privvy to some crackin sights mate. @Shuva Brata Deb: thanks Shuva. It's a modern art piece in the centre of kyoto city. It's kind of tucked away behind a department store, down a little back alley. It looks a little sad to be honest, very poorly maintained. @badala: cheers badala! Still from Valence, FranceThis impressive sculpture seems to be a miracle of equilibre! Your self-portrait in it is a great idea! 29 Jan 2007 2:33pm @Still: Thanks Still! it looked rather sad standing there, noone really paying any attention, they'd started to build a car park surrounding it I think so I thought I'd give it some attention ;) @Maoya: Thanks Maoya! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaAnd I'm putting it to good use lately! Great work. I'd call it 'Duncan in the Sky with Diamonds'. 29 Jan 2007 2:48pm @Damon Schreiber: ;) hehe. will consider a retitle. thanks Damon! Francis from Hong KongBeautiful shot. Incredible sculpture. Was photoshopped or just a natural reflection? Whatever is was ,its superb! 29 Jan 2007 3:29pm @Francis: Hey Francis. this was a natural reflection. I have another actually with me reflected in 3 of the boxes but my facial expression was too hideous to use ;) Suby from Milton Keynes, United KingdomAwesome work, very abstract without being too abstract SUby 29 Jan 2007 3:32pm @Suby: Cheers Suby! Zach Siebert from Bologna, Italyah, there you are. nice contrasts. unreal sculpture. thanks for sharing! 29 Jan 2007 3:48pm @Zach Siebert: Cheers Zach! Maoya from Rolle, SwitzerlandCame back to check this out, have to add that the perspective with which you captured this is amaZing! 29 Jan 2007 4:00pm @Maoya: thanks again Maoya. I kind of squeezed into the centre of it, not sure if that was exactly allowed but noone seemed to give two hoots about the thing anyway I figured it'd be ok. @Angry Buddha: Thanks Sean! @babylonezoo: merci beaucoup! Pedro Ferreira from PortugalDuncan thaks for the comment, realy nice B&W, great perspective. 29 Jan 2007 7:18pm @Pedro Ferreira: hey Pedro. thanks to you too mate! @Daniel: yup. on the weekends i go by "zod". cheers Daniel! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaThis reminds me of those scenes from one of the Superman films where the bad guys are trapped in those 2D-square-prism-things in space. Very creative portrait and technically very good, it would have been very easy to under/overexpose this one which you've avoided really well. 29 Jan 2007 10:02pm @Chris Sullivan: thanks Chris! @Carol: I used to peel off the stickers on those things. mind bendingly difficult! thanks Carol! Colour blind from Tokyo, JapanYou've managed to make something out of nothing again. I'm impressed with this shot. I wonder if you pp your camera out of the shot?? It would be interesting to find out how you did this. Another wonderful self portrait!! 29 Jan 2007 11:12pm @Colour blind: Hey Kelly. No cloning out of camera required. just a million takes! I basically squeezed into the centre of the scuplture and shot with camera at waist height. Michael Zhang from New York City, United States"Lazer Lines" and tomorrow's shot were both taken at 34th street. Great idea to place the sculpture (is it a sculpture?) against the sky. It gives it an immense sense of BIG. 30 Jan 2007 12:25am @Michael Zhang: Thanks Michael. Aye it's a scuplture thats basically been all but forgotten it seems. Cheers for the tour of the city btw! Pero from Kyoto, JapanOh my god. This is a fantastic photo. It seems to have a lot of stories. I am so impressed. 30 Jan 2007 2:17am @Pero: Thanks Pero! @Martine Lapointe: Merci beaucoup Martine! @M.E.: Thanks M.E! @Stu: Cheers mate! @H.O: Domo Arigatou Gozaimasu! @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Cheers Alfredo! Paul Ricciardi from West Hartford, United StatesWow...I don't know what to say...it's surreal, it's disorienting, it's B&W (bonus points) and it's just...very very very cool. I'm at a loss for words...no paragraphs of reflective thinking here...just a big wow. 30 Jan 2007 2:35pm @Paul Ricciardi: Thanks Paul! Wow is often the best word anyway! ;) @Craig Persel: Cheers Craig! much appreciated! @bambino: well im glad you enjoyed the comments at least bambino! @dizionario: Thank you! uomo from ..., PeruThe information I found here was rather helpful.
