@Fred: Hey Fred, thanks for the visit mate, she does seem to have elicited that reaction from looking at the comments today. Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandIs she for real or a mannequin? What an amazing face! 17 Jan 2007 7:45am @Bronnie: She had an aura about her thats for sure. Thanks for the visit bronnie! @H.O: Thanks Hiro! she was quite stunning in her own unique way. Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyAre you sure this is a real person? 17 Jan 2007 8:56am @Manuela Photography: hehe...she's real alright manuela! thanks for your visit! Stu from Kyoto, JapanFrom looking at these comments I think you found another addition to the 'Zoned' category, Duncs. Zoned Level 4: The Mannequin. 17 Jan 2007 9:17am @Stu: thanks stu. she has a similar look to the zoned girl for sure. I saw her again today actually and her clothes are 'unique'. I'll try and get a capture to illustrate what I mean... Carol from TurkeyBut is it a real hand? Can't really make it out cos of the soft focussing but the hand seems to have more life in it. Interesting shot. 17 Jan 2007 10:38am @Carol: Its real Carol! but I understand the reaction...it seems many people are questioning her 'reality'! Carol from TurkeyHmm.. the arm is wearing the same jumper as the neck so I guess not a real hand... 17 Jan 2007 10:40am @Carol: ;) Sidonie from Sydney, AustraliaSuch close focus - a shop window dummy? Or a girl reading on public transport? Very engaging, Dunc. 17 Jan 2007 11:04am @Sidonie: Thanks Sidonie! micki from United StatesYour point of focus has left many wondering about the reality of your subject...well done! 17 Jan 2007 12:16pm @micki: Thanks micki...I may upload a few more of this girl in a while, maybe backdate them, she was a most interesting subject. Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaI'm as baffled as everyone else. Miki sums it up for me; it's got me wondering about the very reality of the subject. I've done about 7 double-takes, truly great work mate. 17 Jan 2007 12:25pm @Chris Sullivan: ;) thanks Chris, she's as real as you or me, but I think its the makeup to be honest and those eyelashes are scupted to absolute perfection. @Angry Buddha: ;) that just about sums up my thoughts too when she sat down opposite me ;) Francis from Hong Kong, Hong KongLove this shot, but I can't really put my finger on why ! Its kind of disturbing but I don't why ? 17 Jan 2007 2:11pm @Francis: ;) thanks Francis. Colour blind from Tokyo, JapanShe's the bird you kidnapped and dipped in wax isn't it...she's hot!! Haha only joking mate... Great work good thought too I never thought about taking photo's of a doll. It's a great shot and the curiosity you fired up is fantastic. 17 Jan 2007 2:36pm Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesMy first thought was, "great portrait". 17 Jan 2007 2:41pm Daniel from United StatesShe just looks tired. If it wasn't for the hand, she'd look like a tired porcelain doll. 17 Jan 2007 2:58pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaI keep looking at this photo, and while I'm conviced your subject is human, I'm wondering why my eyes keep trying to tell me she's not. I'm thinking it's a trick of the lighting and perhaps some selective focus making her skin look unnaturally smooth. Starting with her hair, it has all the appearance of a wig; almost hanging off her head, the light reflecting coarse synthetic fibres... Her eyelashes forming perfect little triangles... Her expression - that stuck pig blank gaze... But her hand looks quite real; she's obviously on a train; Beyoncé is real (I think)... Call this portrait absolute intimacy with absolute distance. 17 Jan 2007 5:33pm Bahar from Toronto, CanadaI can't not to focus on her eyes, they're strange..it's a powerful portrait. Great job! 17 Jan 2007 10:50pm Jason Kravitz from Brussels, Belgiumyou must have a calming effect on people (to the point of them going inanimate ;-) 17 Jan 2007 10:55pm Mammoth in Chief from Naperville, United StatesNo offense, reminds me of Ringu... :D 18 Jan 2007 1:20am |
