The 'Down' series is going to run and run but I thought I'd break it up a little to avoid turning into a 'blogging dad'.

ridiculously good. framing could be better and there could be more details in the shadows, but only i'm anal enough to complain about these things anyway.

@Kelvin Chan: cheers man, been sitting on this for a few days unsure of when to post it, your shot yesterday kind of decided today would be the day. (I must say your shot yesterday absolutely blows this away, anyone not seen it yet please go here.
stonkin' b&w Duncs. something timeless about it.

@Stu: Ta very much mate!
Good contrast on this image. White (young) & black (not young). Very nice! I'm "not young".

@Makoto: Hey makoto. thats a good reading of this. I like it! many thanks!
Very good contrast and composition. I also like the expression in the men's faces.

@Martin: Thanks Martin!
Good stuff! I like Makoto's reading, and I love the way the walking men have smiles, while the models have those earnest "model faces" as though they took life so seriously. The guy in the foreground really makes this one for me. He looks really tickled about something.

@Damon Schreiber: cheers Damon. Yeah I like Makotos idea behind this too.
Nice urban image. :-)

@Srinivas Koduri: cheers Srinivas, the down series will be back...a few digressions between now and then though!
Thats a lot of characters nicely framed. I think it is slightly tilted towards the left---not exactly tilted, but you can skew a bit.
11 Jan 2007 1:02pm
@Shuva: yeah, the wide angle kind of threw me off here. ive skewed it from the original to end up with this.
I like this shot! Looking forward to seeing this serie.

@Kerstin: cheers Kerstin!
absolutly magnific!

@objectif-plume: merci beaucoup!
A very attractive shot! Your superb composition gives it an interesting dynamic touch!

@Still: Thanks Still!
nice one Duncan, this guy in the foreground seems to belong to the world of the billboard somehow with only the second guy actually moving, at least to my eye. great composition and contrasts..
11 Jan 2007 5:20pm
@jc: thanks man. as for contrast...you're leading me here. Love the PP work on your b&w's.
Very interesting and unusual shot. Capturing usual life and making it interesting is art in all its definition.

@Mammoth in Chief: thanks mammoth!
Nice catch...all the money spent on the ads and these two walk right by without a glance.
11 Jan 2007 8:23pm
@micki: heh! dont thinks mens beauty clinics matter too much to these two!
Looks slightly dark to me. Nice tho.Cheers!

@Angry Buddha: Cheers Sean! much appreciated. always appreciate your visit mate.
A lot going on, makes you stop and have to think !

@Sheldon Hull: Thanks sheldon. your visit is alwasy appreciated, and thanks again for the comments on previous posts!
The walk-by is back in full effect; makes me want to go out and take some more again. Excellent shot, the guy on the left of the frame really makes the composition; and the 'live naturally' billboard along the back makes for a nice contrast - does anyone live natually anymore? Haha, no chance of turning into a 'blogging dad'; you've got too many different subjects for that!
12 Jan 2007 5:15pm
@Chris Sullivan: cheers Chris! yeah the walk-by is having somewhat of a renaissance this week.
I like the framing in terms of how the men are in the photo. But the background looks like it's a bit off-angle. As per Chris Sullivan's comment, the left man really makes it!
15 Jan 2007 10:18pm
@Evelyn: Thanks Evelyn. yeah, this was taken pretty much on the fly, I wasnt at 90 degrees to the background, hence the off kilter angle. I took a few more with perfect alignment but these guys had a lot more character.
