I really must say its been a wonderful year for me here on A3, There's been no end of inspirational images on display and I doff my cap to each and everyone of you. There's never been a time where I havent walked away from your posts with something emotional and affecting. whether it be a laugh out loud moment or something at the opposite end of the emotional spectrum. You're a great community. The very best. And I'm chuffed to bits to be part of it all. Heres to a cracking New Years Eve, Whatever you're upto, take care, dont drink too much and I'll definetly be catching up with you tomorrow...shin nen akemashite omedeto gozaimasu
ps. anyone guessing the object photograpped in order to create the 'texture' gets a glass of Glenlivet (transportation expenses required to retrieve said prize not included).

I'm guessing that's a linen texture.

@John Hartman: Hey man. thats a big no! but you can have a glass anyway next time I see you. This may well prove impossible, so here's the 1st hint...you could find objects such as the above oooohhh.....around....7000BC ;)
Hi Duncan-san. This is very nice work. You are really cool photographer and creator.

@Makoto T: Thanks Makoto. have a great 2007!
Hmm my guess would be papyrus. Nice shot. Happy New Year !

@Rene: mmmm. thats a good guess there Rene, and this object from which ive created the texture could well be drawn on papyrus. but no. It's all rather confusing now I think about it, so Ill rephrase the poser...it's not a texture itself, but something which has been photographed in order to create a texture....mmmmmmmmmm....
magnifique demoiselle! superbe photo

Lovely delicate softness you've captured here; it really highlights the innocence in her face. I echo your sentiment about the Aminus3 community. Such a positive atmosphere is rarely captured on the Internet or anywhere else. I'm constantly challenging myself to improve to match the wonderful work that's out there. In a way, it's been better for my art than the past 30 years of taking pictures. Thanks to everyone, and you, Duncs for bringing so much positive energy to this place.
As to your puzzle, I'm terrible with riddles, but I'll take a wild guess that it's a map of some sort. Either that or crocodile skin :-D

@Damon Schreiber: And the Glenlivet whiskey goes to you Mr Schreiber! It's a map of the kyoto city area, a place in which everything Ive posted here on AM3 was shot, so I thought I'd give a nod of thanks to the city itself on this final day of the year. I'll keep the whiskey in the cabinet until your next trip back this way Damon. And yeah, AM3 is somewhat of a rarity, a community which is engaging, pro-active and above all supportive of each other. Even when I've posted a stinker, the constructive criticism I've received has done wonders for my development creatively and technically. There's obviously a long way to go, on a road which has no end, but everyones moving down it at a nice pace thanks to a great extent, to the support of each other.
I love the effect of the texture. I'm inspired by your dedication to edit each image to perfection and to your own vision. Happy new year!
