Shadow Mountains from JapanOk...so I like this one too! Everyone's a winner! Love the colour contrast here...(beer tastes so much nicer when you don't have to pay for it yourself, don't you think?) 9 Dec 2006 5:36am @Shadow Mountains: Thanks man. I'm not buying you that beer quite yet.... Julia from Vancouver, CanadaThat is cool ! 9 Dec 2006 8:19am @Julia: Thanks so much Julia, seriously appreciated. Take care of Eddie! Maoya from Rolle, SwitzerlandTrès Jolie! You're making us feel like superboost vision, nosey laundry-gnomes. 9 Dec 2006 9:57am @Maoya: ;-) Maoya, how you doing? glad you're enjoying the superboost vision! wanganeges from concord, ma, United Statesanother good one! you never know what might be lurking in there :o) 9 Dec 2006 11:09am @wanganeges: Thanks wanganeges! love your macro work today...but be warned, he smells real bad if you squash him! Shuva from Hyderabad, IndiaI think the color saturation is way too high for me, but thats my opinion. 9 Dec 2006 12:47pm @Shuva: Hey shuva, I actually deliberately went over the top with this (as my title implies). I just felt the need to break out of a niche I'd been ploughing for a while. @Martine Lapointe: Thanks Martine! You have a beautiful subject today too! @badala: Thanks badala, most appreciated! Paul Ricciardi from Lexington, United StatesVery well done, it almost has an anime-esque feel to it for me, and I'm not even sure why I say that. Perhaps it's because of the saturation, perhaps because of unique angle and slightly crazy clothing, perhaps because the image itself, to me at least, has a sort of surreal quality to it. In any event, it's a very well done shot and I really do like it. 9 Dec 2006 3:35pm @Paul Ricciardi: I think I get the Anime reference actually Paul! As for your post regarding processing, It really got me thinking and was most welcome. Michael Zhang from New York City, United StatesLike before, I love the angle and your ability to take these shots and stay stealthy. You have some lens flare on the upper left. It's okay, but for quality purposes, you might want to clone it out in Photoshop. 9 Dec 2006 3:55pm @Michael Zhang: hey Micahael thanks for your visit its always appreciated, as is your constuctive criticism. Ive been thinking 'pop; for these and actually tried to relax a little (compositionally and PP-wise) and just have a bit of fun. The lens flare was almost seen to but I thought I'd let it slide. Time was admittedly a factor also (full time job and two kids = little PS action time!) Mammoth in Chief from Naperville, United StatesVery interesting composition and mood to it... I call for more. 9 Dec 2006 4:18pm @Mammoth in Chief: Thanks Mammoth...more is coming I think...but I'm not sure to be honest...I'm kind of at the mercy of my location and its clientel! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaThe laundry otaku strikes again! Excellent work: perrrrrfect framing, the circles, the elongated arm, the sunlight, the dominant yellow with subdominant red and blue, the pose, the clothing, the black hole, and especially the insanely happy face at the bottom right. I did a search for a great laundromat short film that's set in Tokyo (Spin Cycle, by CJ Young), but it seems to have dropped off the face of the internet. Too bad; I wanted to throw you a link to help you with your new obsession. 9 Dec 2006 4:43pm @Damon Schreiber: Spin Cycle..right...I'll try and get onto that. I hit the net also but downloads were nowhere to be seen. Thats my homework though. Glad you're enjoying my noseying around! Martin from a small village in Lower Austria, AustriaI think this photo is very cool, especially the perspective. Although, personally, I think the background is over-exposed, it is a great shot! 9 Dec 2006 4:44pm @Martin: Cheers Martin! the overexposed reference in the title is going a bit unnoticed...It was kind of my intention to be honest. Just being a bit playful! @Addey: Thanks Addey. Much appreciated, and thanks so much for your visit mate. H.O from Victoria, CanadaGreat capture and concept I really love this image. 9 Dec 2006 5:36pm @H.O: Thanks H.O. You lalways leave such a kind comment and it really enthuses me to get out and shoot mate. Thank you again. Hope your weekend is going well and I'm looking forward as always to your next post! Btw, the location of your latest is wonderful! You shot it before at halloween ne? If so, its certainly a very charismatic building, it has many 'faces'! Tim from Bratislava, SlovakiaNice picture, I also love the angle you chose to take the photo. 9 Dec 2006 8:26pm @Tim: Thanks Tim! Looking forward to your next post mate. Still from VALENCE, FranceWow! superb! The colors the framing and the ligrht give it a surrealistic touch! Fine capture! 9 Dec 2006 9:27pm @Still: Thanks Still. Loving your black and white work. very striking! Kelvin Chan from New York City, United StatesWow. I don't have stuff to complain about this time. The blown out space is good contrast. Love the perspective. Great shot. 10 Dec 2006 12:07am @Kelvin Chan: Thanks man, much appreciated. Enjoy that D80! Keep 'em coming. @Ayumi K.: She was going through the machines to see if there was anything in I guess (?). My japanese isnt good enough to make too many enquiries of people! Sidney from Manila, PhilippinesI like your work and I find that you are an awsome street photographer. 10 Dec 2006 2:49am @Sidney: Hi Sidney. I actually agree its not 'my style' but thats kind of what I wanted to be honest. I felt like doing something a little bit different. A change is as good as a break so they say. Ive been doing so much street stuff of late, and Processing wise I'd actually stopped experimenting, sticking with a tried and trusted method, that this was more to shake things up for me than anything else. It was a lot of fun to do, which above all else is what I'm going to take away from this wee series. I felt a tad unmotivated of late and this has sorted me out. Thanks for the comment Sidney your visit is most welcome, and the street stuff will return after Ive got this out of my system...bear with me... @Craig Persel: Thanks so much Craig! |
